It’s so haaarrrdddd to say goodbyyeee to SevillAaa… Even after 15 years, I think Seville is still my favorite city of all time. It has changed quite a bit but it seems the heart of the city, the people and of course all the beautiful buildings are still the same. There was an astounding amount of tourists this time which takes away a little bit of it’s small city charm but Nick and I still had an amazing time! I suppose it was bound to be found out as a great place to visit sooner or later.
We arrived on Friday afternoon and were exhausted. After a walking around the old town and the neighborhood where I used to live, we took a nice long siesta so we could be rested for flamenco and sevillanas dancing all night long! We did not make it to bed before 2 a.m. on either night we were there.

To be honest, I’m not sure what we did on Saturday. We did some shopping around town, walked up and down by the river, visited a local market and really just enjoyed the city. We have been finding ourselves trying to balance how much tourist sightseeing we do and how much walking around and eating and drinking our way through the city we do. Nick and I seem to be quite aligned on that but I want to make sure we don’t miss any of the big highlights. In Spain we also ate an extraordinary amount of croquettes

Saturday night, we got to connect with a friend I knew when I met while studying there and his girlfriend, Jaime and Nieves. We caught up on life and ate, you guessed it, croquettas! Paella too.

Sunday, we had to leave but we fit in a trip to the alcazar, a castle similar in style to Granada’s Alhambra, an art fair, a delicious lunch of calamari and some more souvenir shopping.
We arrived at the castle with very little time to spend there before our flight and while in line, just as we had reached the ticket window, a very nice couple gave us two extra tickets that they had. We were thrilled and jumped from the ticket buying line to the pre-purchased tickets line and in the process were stopped by security. I got to use the very rare angry Jodi Spanish and it went well! The guard understood me and we got in for free! Fun!!

Now, we are in Venice.

So much fun!!! I didn’t even know that you knew “angry Spanish “!!! Good job Jodi!!! I bet Nick is glad you know your Spanish!! The guard was probably impressed an American actually knew Spanish!!! So great to be able to see Jaime again too! Have fun on your continued exploration and keep the script and photos coming!!! I feel like I am partially there with you! Enjoy!!! ❤️❤️❤️
